“This provision is outstanding”
We are very please to say that our nursery has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted:
“The nursery's motto is: 'Learning to play - playing to learn', and this is thoroughly embedded in all areas of nursery practice. As a result, the provision for children's learning and development is outstanding.”
See the Ofsted website for more details.
We are also in the press:
We have invested in Tapestry for planning and recording observations and make learning Journeys online for parents. It also helps parents to actively contribute to the learning journey of their child and assess daily progress.
We have CCTV recording in all the rooms where children and parents interact. This is to ensure any allegations against a child, parent or staff can be investigated.
We make continual potential risk assessments for children in all areas. This includes the play equipment and gardens as well as fences and gates.
The fingerprint entry system to the Logcabin has an additional alarm if it is accidentally left open for more than 30 seconds. The fingerprint system is always updated for parents who have left or where parents need to has access denied.
At Dickory Docks Educational Day Nursery we are aware of the need to protect children from being radicalised under the Prevent Duty and all our staff have been trained to observe behaviour. Equally, our staff are trained to look out for signs of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
